In Berserk manga chapter 59, the Band of the Hawk finally escapes Wyndham with Griffith and begins searching for a safe place to hide. Griffith remains physically broken and unable to lead the group as he once did, leaving Guts and Casca to protect the others. Meanwhile, the Midland army sends the Black Dog Knights under Wyald to track them down and bring Griffith back. As the Hawks move through the countryside, Wyald and his men close in on their location, setting up the next major conflict.
