Berserk Manga Chapter 135
In chapter 135, the refugees gathered around the Tower of Conviction are living in extremely poor conditions, with very little food and many people suffering from hunger and illness. Some desperate refugees try to take food from a cart belonging to the Holy See, but Farnese and the Holy Iron Chain Knights stop them. Mozgus then unexpectedly allows the refugees inside the tower, including a mother whose sick child needs medical attention. After the child receives treatment, Mozgus tells the mother that she must repay the favor later. He takes her and Farnese to a torture chamber where his disciples are punishing people accused of heresy. Farnese is forced to watch as Mozgus presents this cruelty as part of his religious duty, leaving her increasingly disturbed by the methods of the Holy See.
