Berserk Manga Chapter 158
In chapter 158, the mysterious Egg of the Perfect World is confronted by the Skull Knight in the burial grounds outside the Tower. The Skull Knight attacks first and cuts through the creature’s tentacles, but the Egg manages to escape by grabbing Luca and carrying her away. Luca wakes up inside a hidden cave filled with candles and discovers a disturbing shrine made from the remains of priests. The Egg then tells her its tragic history: it was once a deformed human who lived hidden beneath Albion because people feared and rejected its appearance. After humans began throwing corpses into its underground hiding place, it was eventually buried alive among the dead. At the moment of death, it encountered the five God Hand and sacrificed what was precious to it in exchange for the power to create a “perfect world.” It then transformed into the Beherit-like Apostle now known as the Egg of the Perfect World.
