In chapter 181, Griffith tells Rickert that he intends to build his own kingdom and invites him to join him, though Rickert is confused by Griffith’s words. Guts tries to attack Griffith, but Rickert stops him, and Griffith and Zodd fly away. Rickert then asks Guts what really happened during the Eclipse, so Guts finally tells him the truth. After hearing it, Rickert is devastated and decides that he wants to join Guts on his journey, but Guts refuses. With Godo’s cave destroyed, Guts realizes Casca no longer has a safe place to stay, until Puck suddenly suggests taking her to his homeland.
