In chapter 226, Guts fully embraces the power of the Berserker Armor and becomes much faster and stronger, overwhelming Grunbeld. The armor removes his sense of pain, but Schierke realizes this comes with a terrible cost: Guts’ damaged body is still deteriorating, and the armor is beginning to bring out the Beast of Darkness within him. Guts then smashes through Grunbeld’s shield and cannon, leaving even the apostle shocked by his strength.
