Berserk Manga Chapter 229
In chapter 229, Schierke manages to bring Guts back from the influence of the Beast of Darkness by reminding him of Casca and the reason he is fighting. Guts regains control just as Grunbeld attacks again, but instead of continuing the fight, Guts rushes to protect Serpico and Isidro from the other apostles. He then saves Farnese and Casca as well. As the group escapes the burning forest, Flora appears in the flames and stays behind to hold off the apostles. Schierke realizes that Flora is sacrificing herself so they can escape, and she says goodbye to her mentor before leaving with Guts and the others.
